Description
Tayrona National Park (Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona) is one of Colombia's most beautiful and best known national parks. Along the Caribbean coast, the densely forested slopes of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta meet turquoise waters, palm lined bays, coral reefs, and striking granite boulders. The park is renowned for its spectacular coastal scenery, tropical rainforests, rich wildlife, and the sacred sites of the Kogi, Wiwa, Arhuaco, and Kankuamo Indigenous peoples. Hiking trails and historic Tayrona stone paths lead visitors to secluded beaches such as Cabo San Juan, Arrecifes, and Playa Brava. Home to howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, toucans, and countless other species, Tayrona combines lush jungle with the Caribbean coast, making it one of South America's most spectacular natural paradises.
