Barranquilla is Colombia's fourth-largest city and the economic hub of the Caribbean coast. The vibrant port city on the Magdalena River is best known for the Carnival of Barranquilla, one of South America's largest and most traditional carnival celebrations, recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
