Description
Nazinga is a wooded savannah reserve near the Ghanaian border, set up as an experiment in community wildlife management and now the most reliable place in Burkina Faso to see elephant at close range. Several hundred live here and gather at the artificial waterholes through the dry season, often walking past the camp itself. Roan and hartebeest, kob, waterbuck, warthog, baboon and crocodile share the reserve, and more than two hundred and seventy bird species have been recorded. Game drives run at dawn and dusk, and it is possible to walk with a guide.
