Description
Manali (मनाली) is the best known mountain town in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and one of the most popular destinations in the Indian Himalayas. Situated on the Beas River, the town is surrounded by dense pine and cedar forests and snow covered peaks. It is renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery, the historic Hadimba Temple, the lively Old Manali district, and its wide range of outdoor activities. With trekking, skiing, snowboarding, and paragliding, Manali offers outstanding opportunities for mountain adventures throughout the year. At the same time, its temples, traditional villages, and relaxed atmosphere preserve the charm of a Himalayan mountain town. Thanks to the Atal Tunnel, Manali is also the main gateway to the high altitude regions of Lahaul, Spiti, and Ladakh, as well as the starting point for the seasonal road to Leh, one of the world's most spectacular mountain highways.
