Lake Muhazi

Description
Lake Muhazi is a long finger of water east of Kigali, narrow enough in places to see both shores at once and bent around the hills for some sixty kilometres. It is Rwanda's weekend lake rather than an international stop, and the shore at Rwesero and Gahini carries a line of open air restaurants where the order is grilled brochettes and tilapia with a view. Boats go out for birds and for fishing, and cyclists use the shore road. Most travellers meet it as the lunch stop on the way to Akagera, which is exactly what it is good at.
