Description
Krimml is a picturesque Alpine village in the Austrian state of Salzburg and the western gateway to Hohe Tauern National Park. It is best known for the Krimml Waterfalls, Austria's highest waterfalls, with a total drop of 380 metres. Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, Krimml is an ideal base for hiking and cycling. It is also the starting point of the Tauern Cycle Path, one of Austria's most popular long distance cycling routes. In winter, the nearby Zillertal Arena offers excellent skiing opportunities. The waterfall aerosol, scientifically studied for its beneficial effects on respiratory health, has also made Krimml a well known wellness destination for people with respiratory conditions. Combining breathtaking scenery, outdoor activities, and authentic Alpine charm, Krimml is a popular holiday destination throughout the year.
