Koh Lanta

Thailand · Southern Thailand (Andaman Coast) · 10 m

Description

Koh Lanta (เกาะลันตา) is an archipelago in Krabi Province and is one of the most laid-back destinations on Thailand’s Andaman Coast. It consists of two main islands, Koh Lanta Noi (เกาะลันตาน้อย), which preserves the island’s traditional way of life with its fishing villages, mangroves, and coconut plantations, and Koh Lanta Yai (เกาะลันตาใหญ่), known for its kilometers-long sandy beaches, tranquil bays, and laid-back resorts. Mu Ko Lanta National Park, with its tropical rainforest and diverse wildlife, the historic old town with its Malay-Chinese shophouses, and first-class opportunities for diving, snorkeling, and kayaking make Koh Lanta a versatile travel destination. The archipelago combines authentic Thai culture, tropical nature, and relaxing beach vacations, and is considered an ideal alternative to the more crowded islands of Phuket and Koh Samui.
