Description
Khao Yai (เขาใหญ่) is Thailand’s oldest national park and part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Dong Phayayen Khao Yai Forest Complex. The protected area northeast of Bangkok is known for its dense tropical forests, grasslands, mountains, and spectacular waterfalls. Khao Yai provides a vital habitat for wild elephants, gibbons, hornbills, and many other species, making it an important sanctuary for Thailand’s biodiversity. Well established trails and viewpoints offer access to the diverse landscape and abundant wildlife. The park also serves as an important watershed for several rivers. Khao Yai combines remarkable natural beauty with rich biodiversity and outstanding ecological significance.
