Kanchanaburi (กาญจนบุรี) is a province steeped in history in western Thailand, known for its stunning landscapes and its poignant past. The Bridge on the River Kwai and the Death Railway are internationally famous as significant memorials to World War II. At the same time, the region captivates visitors with Erawan National Park, its seven-tiered emerald waterfalls, picturesque rivers, limestone mountains, and vast forests. The Thung Yai-Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, also provides a protected habitat for endangered species such as tigers and Asian elephants.
