Morocco · Marrakech-Safi · 1740 m
Description
Imlil (إمليل) is a picturesque mountain village in the High Atlas and the main gateway for treks to Jebel Toubkal, at 4,167 metres the highest peak in North Africa. Located around 64 kilometres south of Marrakech, the village is surrounded by steep mountain slopes, terraced fields, walnut trees and traditional Amazigh settlements. Ancient mule trails connect Imlil with scattered hamlets and lead deep into the dramatic landscapes of the Toubkal Massif. As one of Morocco’s most important hiking centres, Imlil combines traditional village life with spectacular mountain scenery and serves as the principal gateway to the high peaks of the High Atlas.
