Short description of Bale Mountains
The Sanetti plateau is the largest unbroken stretch of ground above three and a half thousand metres anywhere on the continent, and it is the best place on earth to watch an Ethiopian wolf hunt, since roughly half of the few hundred left alive live up here. South of the plateau the land falls two thousand metres in eight kilometres into the Harenna cloud forest, where coffee still grows wild under the canopy. Mountain nyala and Menelik's bushbuck graze the juniper woodland around the park gate at Dinsho. Nights up on the open moorland drop well below freezing.
