Travel to New Caledonia
New Caledonia is a French territory in the South Pacific, surrounding one of the largest lagoons in the world, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nouméa blends French cafés and beaches with the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, dedicated to the Indigenous Kanak culture.
The Isle of Pines with its araucaria trees and natural pool, the Loyalty Islands and the red earth and rivers of the Grand Sud are the main excursions. Unrest in 2024 hit tourism hard, so it is worth checking the current situation before travelling.
