Description
Varberg has a fortress on the shore, a cold bathhouse built out over the water in 1903 where men and women still bathe naked on separate sides, and a bog body in a glass case wearing the only complete set of medieval clothing found anywhere in the world. Ten kilometres inland stands a radio station from 1924 whose alternator still transmits on seventeen point two kilohertz twice a year, the last working long wave transmitter of its generation anywhere and world heritage for exactly that reason. Between the three of them the town covers rather more ground than its size suggests.
