Description
Tikehau is a small, almost perfectly round atoll in French Polynesia’s Tuamotu Archipelago, best known for its pink-sand beaches, turquoise lagoon, and exceptionally rich marine life. The lagoon is renowned for its abundance of tropical fish and offers excellent opportunities for snorkeling and diving. A popular excursion is Bird Island, an uninhabited motu where numerous seabirds gather and nest. Around the main village of Tuherahera, visitors will find a handful of guesthouses and resorts, while the atoll retains its peaceful, lightly developed character. Tikehau combines pristine island scenery with an intimate, laid-back atmosphere, making it a rewarding complement to Rangiroa and other Tuamotu destinations.
