Description
Tash Rabat (Таш-Рабат) is an impressive stone caravanserai set in a remote high-altitude valley at around 3,200 meters in Naryn Province and is one of the best-preserved structures of its kind in Kyrgyzstan. The surviving building dates to the 15th century and stands along a historic branch of the Silk Road between the Ferghana Valley and Kashgar. Its massive stone walls, vaulted chambers and central domed hall once offered travelers and trading caravans shelter and rest. The surrounding high valleys, yak herds and horseback trails invite exploration, while nearby Chatyr-Kul is one of the region’s most striking destinations. Traditional yurt camps provide accommodation amid this remote mountain landscape.
