Description
Rovinj is one of Istria’s most distinctive coastal towns and a Mediterranean center of history, culture, and maritime heritage. Its historic old town lies on a peninsula and is characterized by pastel-colored houses, narrow streets, small squares, and Venetian-influenced architecture. Rising above the rooftops is the bell tower of the Church of St. Euphemia, the town’s landmark. Rovinj combines a long fishing tradition with galleries, cafés, restaurants, and a lively waterfront along the Adriatic Sea. South of the old town lies Zlatni Rt Forest Park, with shady paths, secluded coves, and a diverse coastal landscape. The town is considered one of Istria’s most appealing destinations and also serves as an ideal base for exploring the Istrian coast and hinterland.
