Description
Pula is the largest city in Istria and a vibrant center of ancient history, maritime heritage, and Mediterranean life. The city is known for its remarkably well-preserved Roman amphitheater, the Pula Arena, as well as the Temple of Augustus and the Arch of the Sergii, which reflect its more than two-thousand-year history. Pula combines Roman ruins and Venetian architecture with a historic harbor, lively squares, cafés, and the beaches of Verudela. Just offshore, the Brijuni Islands form a national park rich in Mediterranean nature and historical sites. Pula is the cultural and maritime center of southern Istria and one of the most fascinating destinations on Croatia’s Adriatic coast.
