Description
Ranikot has a wall thirty-two kilometres round, which makes it the largest fortress in the world by circumference, and it is often called the great wall of Sindh. The wall follows the ridgelines of the Kirthar hills so closely that from a distance it is hard to tell where the rock stops and the masonry starts. Nobody is certain who built it or against whom, and the estimates run from the Sassanians to the Talpur amirs of the eighteen twenties. Miri fort stands inside it. Sann and Mohan are the two gates that still open.
