Description
Petra (البتراء) is one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites and a remarkable testament to Nabataean culture. The famous “Rose City” in present-day Jordan developed into an important trading center and the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom. Its monumental façades, tombs, and sanctuaries were carved into the region’s distinctive rose-red sandstone. The approach leads through the dramatic Siq, a natural rock gorge that opens onto the iconic Treasury, Al-Khazneh. Petra captivates visitors with its extraordinary combination of spectacular landscapes, ancient architecture, and sophisticated water systems.
