Short description of Mount Myohyang

Mount Myohyang (묘향산) is the mountain most easily reached from Pyongyang and one of the five famous ranges of Korea. Its valleys of waterfalls and granite slabs are walked on day hikes from the pyramid shaped Hyangsan Hotel at the foot of the range. The International Friendship Exhibition is cut into the mountainside here, a bunker of halls displaying the gifts sent to the North Korean leaders from around the world. Pohyon Temple below it dates from the Koryo period and keeps a set of the Tripitaka Koreana printing blocks. Manphok Valley and the Ryongmun Cave complete the usual programme.
