Matsuyama (松山市) is the capital of Ehime Prefecture and the largest city on the Japanese island of Shikoku. The city is best known for Dōgo Onsen, one of Japan’s oldest hot springs, Matsuyama Castle with its original surviving keep, and its close connection to the historic Shikoku Pilgrimage. Matsuyama combines traditional bathhouses, Buddhist temples, and literary heritage with a relaxed urban atmosphere and views toward the Seto Inland Sea.
