Description

Lijiang (丽江) is a historic city in northwestern China's Yunnan Province and one of the country's most culturally significant destinations. Its UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town is renowned for its centuries-old network of canals, stone bridges, cobbled streets, and traditional Naxi architecture. Rising above the city is the 5,596-meter Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, one of the southernmost permanently glaciated mountain ranges in the Northern Hemisphere, whose snow-capped peaks dominate the surrounding landscape. Nearby attractions include the turquoise lakes of Blue Moon Valley, Black Dragon Pool Park, and the historic village of Baisha. Once an important trading center along the Ancient Tea Horse Road, Lijiang combines rich cultural heritage, spectacular alpine scenery, and the traditions of the Naxi people, making it one of China's most captivating travel destinations.
