Short description of Kuwait City
Kuwait City (Madinat al-Kuwait) is the whole of the country for most visitors, a flat oil funded capital strung along the south shore of its bay. The three Kuwait Towers stand over the water with a viewing sphere in the largest, and the Grand Mosque below them opens its courtyards to anyone who asks. Souq Al-Mubarakiya still trades in the evening under its awnings, which is where the city feels oldest. Newer money went into Al Shaheed Park and a string of cultural centres and museums. There is no alcohol anywhere and almost no nightlife, so the day ends on the corniche.
