Short description of Al Ahmadi
Al Ahmadi was laid out by the Kuwait Oil Company in the nineteen forties on a low ridge above the Burgan field, and it still looks like what it is. Bungalows sit in a planted grid of streets under mature trees, watered and ordered in a way nowhere else in Kuwait is, and the company still runs much of it. The reason to come is the oil and gas exhibition, which explains the thing the whole country is built on better than anything in the capital. The public garden and the old British quarter fill what is left of the morning.
