Short description of Fahaheel
Fahaheel is the commercial town of the southern coast, forty kilometres below the capital and far more South Asian in character than anywhere in it. Everything turns on Al Kout, a mall built around a water basin with a fountain that plays in the evening and an esplanade along the sea behind it. The fish market and the old souq are still working, and the beach beside them fills once the heat breaks. It is where the south goes out at night rather than a sight in itself, which is exactly what makes it worth an hour. For the whole southern coast this is the meeting place.
