Description
Kafue is the largest national park in Zambia and one of the largest in Africa, roughly the size of Wales and still so lightly visited that whole sectors see a handful of vehicles a year. The Busanga Plains in the north flood each rainy season and dry into open grassland where lion prides hunt red lechwe and cheetah run in the open, the only reliable place for both in the country. The Kafue river cuts the park in half. Antelope diversity here is the highest of any African park. Distances inside the park are long enough that most people fly in.
