Description
Jermuk (Ջերմուկ) is a spa town at two thousand and eighty metres in the Vayots Dzor highlands, built around hot mineral springs whose water carries the town's name onto bottles across the region. A long flight of steps drops to a waterfall of about seventy metres on the Arpa. The Gallery of Waters is a covered colonnade where taps run at different temperatures for drinking cures. Sanatoria from the Soviet decades stand among the pines above the gorge, some restored and some empty, and a cable car crosses to the far rim.
