Description
Isabela (Isla Isabela) is the largest and most pristine island in the Galápagos, combining spectacular volcanic landscapes with an extraordinary diversity of wildlife. Formed by six shield volcanoes, the island is characterized by vast beaches, ancient lava fields, and unique natural sites such as the lava islets of Tintoreras and the dramatic rock formations of Los Túneles. It is home to Galápagos penguins, flightless cormorants, giant tortoises, flamingos, marine iguanas, and blue-footed boobies in their natural habitat. The small town of Puerto Villamil, with its sandy streets and relaxed atmosphere, provides the ideal base for exploring the island.
