Description
Helsingborg is a historic port city in southern Sweden, situated at the narrowest point of the Øresund, just four kilometers from Helsingør in Denmark. The city is known for Kärnan, the medieval tower of the former castle that rises above the compact city center, as well as the lively pedestrian streets around Stortorget and Kullagatan. Other highlights include Sofiero Palace with its renowned rhododendron gardens and the broad waterfront along the Øresund. Helsingborg combines the character of a traditional Swedish port city with its role as an important transport link between Sweden and Denmark. Its proximity to the sea, views across to Denmark, and blend of history, gardens, dining, and relaxed urban life make Helsingborg an appealing destination in southern Sweden.
