Cuba · Holguín · 5 m
Description
Guardalavaca is one of Cuba’s most beautiful beach destinations and the main tourist hub along the scenic northeastern coast of Holguín Province. The region is known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise Caribbean waters, lush tropical vegetation, and excellent opportunities for swimming, diving, and snorkeling along offshore coral reefs. In addition to Playa Guardalavaca, the picturesque Playa Esmeralda and expansive Playa Pesquero rank among the area’s finest beaches. With the archaeological site of Chorro de Maíta, the coastal landscapes of Bahía de Naranjo, and the historic town of Gibara, the region combines Caribbean beach life with nature, history, and Cuban culture. Guardalavaca is considered one of Cuba’s most attractive and relaxed alternatives to the larger beach resorts in the west of the island.
