Short description of Dzanga-Sangha
Dzanga-Sangha is the one part of this country that has gone on working for visitors throughout the war, a block of Congo basin rainforest shared with Cameroon and the Congo and inscribed as world heritage together with them. Forest elephants gather daily at the Dzanga clearing in numbers that can pass a hundred, watched from a platform at the edge. A newly habituated group of western lowland gorillas can now be tracked on foot again, after tracking was suspended for several years. Ba'Aka guides take visitors out on net hunts and forest walks. Access is a charter flight from the capital, or a very long drive.
