Chirripó National Park
Costa Rica · San José · 3821 m
Description
Chirripó National Park (Parque Nacional Chirripó) protects Cerro Chirripó, Costa Rica’s highest mountain at 3,820 metres, and one of Central America’s most spectacular highland landscapes. The national park is known for its challenging trekking routes, dense cloud forests, rare páramo landscapes, and glacially shaped lakes and valleys. Chirripó combines exceptional biodiversity with pristine mountain wilderness and dramatic scenery above the cloud line. On clear days, the summit offers sweeping views across the Talamanca Range to both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, making the national park one of Costa Rica’s most remarkable nature and trekking destinations.
