Description

Cayo Coco is a tropical island off Cuba’s northern coast and, together with Cayo Guillermo, forms the tourist heart of the Jardines del Rey archipelago. The low-lying coral island is known for its miles of white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, extensive mangroves and lagoons, and rich birdlife, including large colonies of flamingos. Offshore coral reefs offer excellent diving and snorkeling, while the island’s all-inclusive resorts are ideal for relaxing beach holidays. Nearby Cayo Guillermo is home to the famous Playa Pilar and has close ties to Ernest Hemingway, who enjoyed deep-sea fishing in the surrounding waters. Cayo Coco combines picture-perfect Caribbean beaches, protected nature, and laid-back seaside relaxation in a wonderfully tranquil setting.
