Description
Cap Skirring is the beach of the Casamance, a long stretch of pale sand backed by palms and cashew trees at the south western corner of Senegal near the Guinea-Bissau border. It is greener and quieter than the Petite Côte, with fishing villages rather than a resort strip, and the surf runs clean through the dry season. Diola villages, rice paddies and mangrove creeks lie immediately inland, and pirogues run north to Karabane and the river mouth. A small airport takes seasonal charters straight from Europe.
