Watarrka National Park in the Red Centre of the Northern Territory is one of Australia’s most impressive natural landscapes and is best known for the imposing Kings Canyon. The park is characterised by sandstone cliffs rising up to 100 metres, deep gorges, secluded waterholes and surprisingly lush vegetation. Highlights include the palm-fringed Garden of Eden, the weathered rock domes of the Lost City and the spectacular Kings Canyon Rim Walk along the canyon rim. Watarrka combines the rugged vastness of the Australian Outback with an extraordinary geological landscape and the ancient culture of the Traditional Custodians of this land.
