The Valdés Peninsula (Península Valdés) is one of Argentina’s most important wildlife areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rugged Atlantic peninsula is renowned for its extraordinary wildlife, including southern right whales, orcas, sea lions, elephant seals, and Magellanic penguins, as well as guanacos and maras roaming the Patagonian steppe. Dramatic cliffs, sheltered bays, vast plains, and remote coastlines shape a pristine landscape where the ocean meets the steppe.
