Description
Iguazú Falls (Cataratas del Iguazú) are among South America’s most spectacular natural wonders, located near Puerto Iguazú on the border between Argentina and Brazil. Stretching for around 2.7 kilometers, the Iguazú River plunges over hundreds of cascades from heights of up to 80 meters. The Argentine side is known for its trails and walkways through subtropical rainforest, bringing visitors remarkably close to the thundering waters and the mighty Garganta del Diablo (“Devil’s Throat”). Clouds of mist, rainbows, and an extraordinary diversity of wildlife and vegetation define this impressive landscape. The protected national parks on both sides of the border are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, making Iguazú Falls one of South America’s great natural highlights.
