Tsenkher Hot Springs

Description
The Tsenkher springs rise in a side valley of the Khangai mountains south of Tsetserleg, where water comes out of the ground at close to ninety degrees and is piped into open air pools at the ger camps built around them. Sitting in hot water at two thousand metres with snow on the hills and nothing else in sight is the reason people stop here, usually for a night on the way between Kharkhorin and the western lakes. Larch and pine cover the slopes. Herder families graze yaks in the valley through the summer.
