Los Alerces National Park (Parque Nacional Los Alerces) in Argentina’s Chubut Province is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Patagonia’s most impressive natural landscapes. The park is known for its ancient alerce trees, one of the longest-living tree species on Earth, as well as dense temperate rainforests, snow-capped Andean peaks, and crystal-clear lakes and rivers. Among its remarkable natural landmarks is “El Abuelo”, an approximately 2,600-year-old alerce in the Alerzal Milenario. Boat trips across the turquoise waters of Lake Menéndez and hikes through pristine forests make Los Alerces one of the outstanding nature experiences in Argentine Patagonia.
