Short description of Kindia
Kindia is the first town of any size on the road inland from the capital and the place people drive to for the waterfall above it, a broad curtain of water over a rock lip that the French named for a bride's veil. Like every fall in this country it depends entirely on rain, and by late in the dry season there is hardly anything coming over. Mango and pineapple country surrounds the whole town. A hill of bare rock rises behind it for those who walk. The market handles a lot of produce for the capital.
