Description
Hyden is a small town in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt, best known for the spectacular Wave Rock. Rising around 15 metres high and stretching 110 metres long, this remarkable granite formation resembles a giant ocean wave frozen in motion and is distinguished by its striking bands of mineral colours. The surrounding area offers further natural and cultural attractions, including the Hippo’s Yawn rock formation, Mulka’s Cave with its Aboriginal rock art, and the salt lake known as Lake Magic. During the Australian spring, colourful wildflowers transform the vast, agricultural landscape. Hyden is one of the Wheatbelt’s best-known destinations and an ideal base for discovering the extraordinary landscapes of inland Western Australia.
