Description

Huatulco is a nature-focused resort region on the Pacific coast of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, best known for the Bahías de Huatulco, a series of nine bays and numerous beaches. The region is characterized by turquoise waters, forested hills, and protected coastal landscapes, including Huatulco National Park with its diverse terrestrial and marine ecosystems. Huatulco combines low-rise tourism infrastructure with outdoor activities such as snorkeling, boat trips, and hiking, as well as excursions to waterfalls and coffee plantations in the mountainous hinterland. Towns such as La Crucecita and Santa María Huatulco complement the coastal experience with markets, local cuisine, and insights into traditional Oaxacan life.
