Golden Gate Highlands National Park is a spectacular highland landscape in the northeastern Free State, near the border with Lesotho. The national park is known for its towering sandstone cliffs, which glow in warm shades of ochre, amber, and gold in the low sunlight, as well as striking rock formations such as the Brandwag Buttress. Vast grasslands, rugged cliffs, and the foothills of the Maluti Mountains shape the dramatic scenery and offer excellent opportunities for hiking and exploring nature.
