Addo Elephant National Park is one of South Africa’s best-known national parks and an important protected area in the Eastern Cape. The malaria-free park is particularly famous for its large elephant population and diverse wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. Its varied landscapes stretch from dense bushland to the coast, where whales and great white sharks can also be spotted with some luck. With excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities, well-maintained roads, and good infrastructure, Addo Elephant National Park is an ideal destination for self-drive safaris and families.
