The Daintree Rainforest is one of the oldest tropical rainforests on Earth and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics of Queensland. This ancient wilderness is known for its towering trees, giant ferns, rare plant species, and remarkable wildlife, including cassowaries and crocodiles. Walking trails lead through dense rainforest, while pristine tropical landscapes unfold along its rivers and coastline. Around Cape Tribulation, the rainforest reaches the shores of the Great Barrier Reef, bringing two extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage areas remarkably close together.
