Cape Agulhas is the southernmost point of the African continent and the place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans officially meet. The rugged coastal landscape is shaped by rocky shores, strong winds, and a dramatic maritime history marked by numerous shipwrecks. The region’s landmark is its historic lighthouse, first lit in 1849 and still standing watch over the treacherous coastline. Often overshadowed by the more famous Cape of Good Hope, Cape Agulhas combines spectacular natural scenery, maritime heritage, and the unique experience of standing at the southernmost tip of Africa.
