Cafayate is a charming wine town in the Calchaquí Valleys of northwestern Argentina and one of the region’s most important wine-producing centers. Located at an altitude of 1,683 meters, the town is particularly renowned for its high-altitude wines and aromatic Torrontés, which thrives in the dry, sunny climate. Cafayate combines traditional bodegas, regional cuisine, and local handicrafts with the dramatic landscapes of the Andean valleys. The nearby Quebrada de las Conchas, with its striking red rock formations, also makes the town an ideal base for exploring one of the most spectacular landscapes in northwestern Argentina.
