Description
Tabuk is the northwest of Saudi Arabia, a highland city that serves as the base for the most dramatic landscape in the country. Wadi Disah, a couple of hours south, is a palm-floored canyon between sandstone pillars with a stream running through it, and it has become the single reason most people fly here. Jabal Al-Lawz above the Gulf of Aqaba catches snow most winters. The city's own sights are modest, a restored castle on the pilgrim road to Medina and a Hejaz Railway station with its locomotives still standing, and the vast NEOM construction sites lie along the coast to the west.
