Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Al Khobar

Saudi Arabia · Eastern Province · 10 m

Description

Al Khobar sits on the Gulf at the Saudi end of the King Fahd Causeway, the road link to Bahrain, and takes more weekend traffic than any other Saudi city. It grew out of an Aramco oil camp and still shows it. The neighbouring town of Dhahran holds Ithra, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, a curved steel landmark with a museum, a cinema and a library that draws the largest cultural attendance in the Kingdom. Al Khobar's own draw is a long corniche of promenades and seafood restaurants and the shallow beaches of Half Moon Bay to the south.
