Description
Quedlinburg is one of Germany's best-preserved medieval towns and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. Located on the northern edge of the Harz Mountains, it is renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved historic center, featuring more than 2,000 half-timbered houses spanning eight centuries of architectural history. Rising above the Old Town, Castle Hill is crowned by the castle and the Romanesque Collegiate Church of St. Servatius, an outstanding landmark closely associated with the Ottonian dynasty and early medieval Germany. Narrow cobbled streets, picturesque squares, charming courtyards, and beautifully restored timber-framed buildings create a timeless atmosphere where history, architecture, and culture come together.
